The Board of Trustees is in the
process of conducting a search for the new president of Methodist
University currently held by Dr. Elton
Hendricks. Dr. Hendricks officially announced his retirement
and will step down as President after 27 years of outstanding service
to the Methodist University community. Dr. Hendricks has helped
to bring the institution to its current status as a leader of higher
education in the region and state.
The Board of Trustees has formed a search
committee to conduct a national search for a successor and is
moving forward with this process in a timely, thoughtful manner.
We have retained the services of a highly respected search firm,
Academic-Search,
Inc., to help conduct the best course of action.
The committee has developed a list of leadership
characteristics that we feel are mandatory for the next president
of Methodist University. These qualities are essential in the formation
of new programs, community relations, and campus funding, as we
move forward with new and exciting opportunities.
We are committed to the institution's needs and excited with the
challenge ahead of us to find the new president of Methodist University.
We thank you for your support.
